![]() The whirlpool tub was the thing that showed the most evidence of an incomplete remodel-the faucet plates were cracked and the finish was coming off in the bottom of the tub. Lighting was excellent throughout the unit and especially in the upstairs bathroom. The showerhead in the downstairs bathtub was lousy, but the upstairs showerhead was hot and strong. ![]() The fireplace looked inviting but it was too warm to try it out. The wi-fi and TV in the living room worked great. The decor was charming with a mountain lodge theme. The kitchen and dining area were great with basic dishes and appliances. The furniture was reasonably comfortable and the king bed was extremely comfortable. We had towels, lined garbage cans, soap, lotion, everything you'd expect in a hotel-type place. The carpets had some small stains but didn't seem dirty otherwise. ![]() As for the inside of the condo, it was not completely redone, but there were definitely updates, like floor tile and granite countertops. We also had a great view of the construction zone, which didn't bother us. We were right near the entrance to the resort and could see Grandfather Mountain from our (very old and in need of replacement) deck. It was obvious to see which units were redone, which ones were in process, and which had not been touched on the outside. When we arrived at the unit, it was evident that at least the outside of the unit had not been redone. When we arrived, the guy who checked us in said that our unit had been remodeled, or refurbished, or some similar word. There is a great restaurant (Bella's) and a Food Lion within one minute of the resort. First, let me say that the location of this property is great for Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock, and Boone (farthest away). The front desk called us about a week before our stay to make sure we knew there was no pool anymore. After reading some of the reviews for this property we were a little worried but hoped for the best. We were excited to find accommodations fairly last minute for Labor Day weekend.
